We are seeking a compassionate, reliable and dedicated Personal Care Assistant to join our team providing high quality care to residents at Doutta Galla Lynches Bridge. Our residence is located in a peaceful setting in the heart of historic Kensington.
The permanent shifts available are: Tuesday and Sunday nights.
Key Responsibilties:
- Provide respectful personal care, including hygiene assistance, dressing and mobility support
- Assist residents with daily living activities and meals
- Foster independence, dignity, and individual choice for each resident
- Maintain accurate documentation in accordance with Aged Care Quality Standards
- Communicate effectively with residents, families, and multidisciplinary teams
As the successful candidate you will have the following requirements:
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience in personal care ideally in an aged care setting
- Experience caring for people living with dementia. Certificate III or Certificate IV in Aged Care/Disability (or equivalent e.g. Individual Support)
- Ability to effectively communicate verbally and non-verbally with residents living with dementia and/or where English is a second language.
- Demonstrated ability to document concisely and effectively in resident progress notes
- Ability to work effectively and respectfully in a team environment.
- Knowledge of the Care Plan process and the relevant assessments required.
- Compassionate, patient, and respectful approach.
